Halo 3 Is Adding Its Version Of Fortnite's Back Bling In New Update

A new way to customize your Spartan in Halo 3 is coming to the game more than 13 years after it was originally released. 343 Industries has announced that it’s taking a page out of Fortnite’s book with its own version of back bling for another way to customize your solider.

“Back attachment” gear is coming to Halo 3 in The Master Chief Collection with the Season 6 update. The attachments are purely cosmetic, and they’re meant to give you yet another way to customize your character to stand out on the battlefield.

The new back attachments, which can be unlocked by simply playing the game, include the Tactical pack, the Demolitions pack, the Communications pack, and the Ammo pack, among others. The Ammo pack looks the best to me thanks to its huge knife at the bottom.

Another one, which wasn’t announced in 343’s blog post but is available in the Season 6 beta test, is the Sword and Board (see below), along with one called Pulaski. This one is a big firefighter’s axe–you can see it in the game in UberNick’s YouTube video.

MGM Resorts and Grupo Globo Partner to Enter Brazil’s Thriving Sports Betting Market

MGM Resorts International, a global leader in gaming and entertainment, has partnered with Grupo Globo, Latin America’s largest media conglomerate, to establish a new venture aimed at securing a sports betting and iGaming license in Brazil. This strategic alliance, if approved, is poised to launch operations under the BetMGM brand in early 2025, marking a significant entry into one of the world’s most dynamic emerging markets for regulated gaming.

The newly formed venture leverages the combined strengths of MGM Resorts’ unparalleled expertise in gaming and entertainment, Grupo Globo’s extensive consumer knowledge, and advanced LeoVegas technology. Grupo Globo, with its vast reach of approximately 70 million viewers daily, provides the venture with unparalleled access to Brazilian consumers, making it a formidable player in the market.

Once operational, the BetMGM-branded platform will have exclusive rights to all of MGM Resorts’ iconic brands, creating a unique offering in the Brazilian market. The partnership aims to build a product that stands out in the competitive landscape by combining the resources and customer bases of both companies.

Tapping into a Booming Market

Brazil represents a significant opportunity for growth in the sports betting industry. With more than 20 million active bettors and a market size estimated at over $3 billion, the country is experiencing double-digit growth each year. This makes Brazil an attractive market for global gaming operators looking to expand their footprint.

Bill Hornbuckle, CEO and President of MGM Resorts International, emphasized the importance of this move, stating: “MGM Resorts is committed to becoming the world’s premier gaming entertainment company, and this strategic alliance with Grupo Globo, and entry into the Brazilian market, is a landmark step forward and key milestone in our growth strategy.” He added that Brazil’s vibrant gaming market and Grupo Globo’s unparalleled expertise make this partnership a historic opportunity to establish a leading position in the country.

The venture’s headquarters will be established in São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city and a crucial hub for the country’s business activities. A leadership team, consisting of top talent from both MGM Resorts and Grupo Globo, along with new hires, will be assembled to oversee the venture’s operations and growth.

However, the launch of the new BetMGM platform is contingent on the approval of local gaming regulators. The venture’s success will depend on its ability to navigate Brazil’s regulatory environment and secure the necessary licenses to operate.

The Competitive Landscape in Brazil’s Gaming Sector

MGM Resorts and Grupo Globo are not the only global brands seeking to capitalize on Brazil’s emerging gaming market. Other major players have recently applied for licenses to operate in the country, highlighting the competitive nature of the market.

For instance, SportyBet, a well-known global online gaming platform, has also recently applied for a license to operate in Brazil. Similarly, EstrelaBet, operating under EB Intermediações e Jogos, has filed for a license and plans to commence regulated operations by January 1, 2025. Both companies are keen on establishing a strong presence in the Brazilian market as it transitions to a regulated betting environment.

In addition, other brands like Big Brazil and Sportingbet have already taken steps to secure their licenses, having submitted applications by the end of July.

In Singapore and legislators have reportedly amended the Casino Control Act following over two years of discussion and debate to institute a new tiered tax system for the island nation’s pair of giant integrated casino resorts.

According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, the new provisions contained within in the recently-passed Gambling Duties Bill were first proposed in 2019 as part of a scheme that saw the Asian city-state subsequently allow the three-tower Marina Bay Sands and nearby Resorts World Sentosa developments, which are operated by Las Vegas Sands Corporation and Genting Malaysia Berhad respectively, to expand their local gambling operations.

Tiered terms:

Under the terms of the fresh legislation and the current 15% flat tax rate on all mass-market gross gaming revenues chalked up by the two massive casinos is reportedly set to rise to 18% for any tally under $2.3 billion. The source detailed that these two operations are to now additionally be obliged to pay a 22% duty on any amounts beyond this considerable threshold.

Continuing this trend and the changes to the Casino Control Act are to reportedly furthermore see the tax rate on all premium gross gaming revenues increase from 5% to 8% for the first $1.8 billion and then 12% thereafter. Inside Asian Gaming explained that this VIP receipt category covers all earnings derived from punters who have deposited over $74,000.

License longevity:

In return for agreeing to pay these higher rates of tax and the government of Singapore is to reportedly allow Las Vegas Sands Corporation and Genting Malaysia Berhad to keep their current duopoly over the tiny nation’s lucrative casino market until the end of 2030Come from Online Betting Site. This particular licensing arrangement moreover purportedly contains a clause that guarantees the country will not seek to institute any new tax rises before the start of 2032.

Admissions assessment:

These license extensions reportedly came after the two casino operators agreed to a 50% bump in the entry fees they are obliged to charge local punters. This rise purportedly took the cost of a 24-hour pass up from around $74 to about $110 with the price of an annual permit swelling from slightly over $1,479 to approximately $2,219.

Ambiguous ambition:

Inside Asian Gaming earlier reported that Las Vegas Sands Corporation has expressed scepticism over whether it will be able to premiere the planned $3.3 billion expansion to its Marina Bay Sands development by the earlier-specified 2025 deadline. The firm’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Dumont, purportedly used a July filing to declare that this doubt concerning the scheme to bring a range of new amenities including a fourth hotel tower to the Singapore development is due to ‘a fair amount of uncertainty around the timing and availability of when we can actually get things done’.Come from Online Betting Site

Reportedly read a statement from Dumont…

“A lot of the early parts of this project require us to work with certain government agencies to seek their approval and work with them collaboratively to ensure that we fulfil our obligations and their desires as part of this project.”
