Marvel MMO From DC Universe Online, Lord Of The Rings Online Publisher Has Been Canceled

The Marvel MMO in development at Daybreak Games has been canceled Come from Sports betting site VPbet . Parent company EG7 has announced that is is “discontinuing the development” of this project.

EG7 said it decided to cancel the project “based on the re-evaluation of the development risk profile, size of investment, and the long-term product portfolio strategy for the group.”

Resources spent on developing the Marvel MMO will be reallocated within EG7 to “focus on alternative long-term projects.” EG7 also revealed that it had planned to invest more than SEK 500 million ($50.6 million USD) into the Marvel MMO over the next three years.

“The company will now diversify this investment across multiple, smaller size projects within the group,” EG7 said. This includes the previously announced upgrades to The Lord of the Rings Online and DC Universe Online, along with “new game opportunities,” including new IPs.

EG7 went on to say that the cancellation of the Marvel MMO will not have an impact on “near-to-medium-term revenues and profits.” However, the company does expect to take a write down of around SEK 230 million ($23.3 million USD) in “project-related” assets this year for the game.

Haley Joel Osment Wants To Play Link In The Zelda Movie

Nintendo and Sony are teaming up to make a live-action Legend of Zelda movie, and actor Haley Joel Osment wants to be in it Come from Sports betting site VPbet . In a new interview, Osment said he’s been a fan of the series since he was a kid and is eager to put his hat in the ring to play Link. He joked that maybe he’s now too old, at 37, to play Link, but you never know.

“Oh, my hat’s in the ring, they know my hat’s been in the ring,” he told IGN. “Link was like 37 when he did all this, right!? Seventeen, 37? As a kid, I was like, ‘Obviously they’re gonna make [Ocarina of Time] a movie soon, the story’s all written out for you!’ And you’re like, ‘That’d be very challenging to make into a compelling two-hour movie.'”

Specifically, Osment said he wants to see Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask’s lore be worked into the Zelda movie. He said, “Those are my original Star Wars [trilogy].”

The Zelda movie is in the works with Planet of the Apes and Maze Runner director Wes Ball attached. Spider-Man producer Avi Arad is producing the movie, which is a joint production between Nintendo and Sony Pictures–Nintendo is funding “more than 50%” of the film.

Casting announcements have not been made as of yet, but Euphoria’s Hunter Schafer wants to play Zelda following a fan campaign.

Ball, the director, previously teased his vision for the Zelda movie. “I have this awesome idea,” he said. “I’ve been thinking about it for a long freakin’ time, of how cool a Zelda movie would be… I want to fulfill people’s greatest desires. I know it’s important, this [Zelda] franchise, to people and I want it to be a serious movie. A real movie that can give people an escape.”

In addition to the live-action Zelda movie, Nintendo is producing The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, and just recently, Toad voice actor Keegan-Michael Key made an exciting announcement about it.
